INTRODUCTION

 

 

My name is Dorottya Somlói a young and passionate Hungarian architect. Though both my parents are Hungarian and I have lived most of my life in Hungary, I also have US citizenship since I was born there. My family moved back to Hungary when I was very little, but my parents always encouraged me to travel around as much as possible. They thought me to be ready to discover new things, to be open-minded about different cultures and always want to learn and see more of the world.

 

 I went to high school in Budapest, and to University in Sopron. As a really curious and energetic person I was always eager to see other parts of the world, so I took all the opportunities I could to travel and study abroad. In 2012 I spent half year in Tallinn studying at the Estonian Academy of Art, then in 2013 I worked in Krakow for three month as an intern at W+W Architect Studio, both supported by Erasmus Programme.

 

 

I believe that designers can draw people’s attention to the beauties of life, make people stop and think, by creating space for them to live in. I personally would like to take part in designing the world around us that is the reason why I chose to become an architect.
